Martin County Sheriff’s Office Animal Services Unit thanks two officers that made a nest for two sweet baby owlets.

Officers Kim Guile and Shannon McGee responded to reports of an injured owl in Palm City. They discovered the owls nest had fallen from a tree and two adult Barred owls were guarding the nest with two owlets.

The two officers decided they would take the liberty of building a new nest for the owlets by using pieces of a donated basket. After the officers hung the new nest on the tree and placed the two babies inside, the two adult owls decided to join them in the new nest.

It’s always a good day when we can help out the wildlife in Florida.
