An NYPD officer is being credited with saving a man’s life after taping an empty potato chip bag to his chest to stop his bleeding. The incident was reported in Harlem on July 7th. Officer Ronald Kennedy arrived to the scene to find the victim had been stabbed in the chest. The officer then asked witnesses to run into a nearby store and grab him a potato chip bag. Once the officer received the bag, he then emptied it and proceeded to tape it to the victim’s chest.

The officer stayed with the victim and kept him calm until paramedics could arrive. The victim was then transported to an area hospital where he was treated for his injuries. An attending physician at the hospital told reporters that Kennedy’s quick thinking saved the victim’s life. It is unclear if any arrest have been made at this time.
