Off-duty officer named in murder-suicide

LAS VEGAS, NV– The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is currently investigating the deaths of an off-duty police officer and his daughter in an apparent murder-suicide.
The incident took place at a residence in the 2500 block of Perryville Avenue around 3:56 a.m. Sunday.
When authorities arrived, they found an adult female and teenage male suffering from non life threatening gunshot wounds.
The victims told authorities that the shooter was still in the home and had custody of a female juvenile.
The SWAT team then made an emergency entrance into the home and found the juvenile dead. They then located the shooter who was later identified as an off-duty officer, dead.
Investigators say the officer and his wife got into an altercation that turned violent and resulted in the officer shooting her.
The couple’s teenage son intervened and was also shot.
The mother and the teenage son then escaped the home and tried to get help.
While the victim’s ran for help, the officer fatally shot their youngest child before shooting himself.
The situation is still under investigation.
