NY AG files quarter billion dollar civil suit against Trump alleging 2 decades of fraud

(NEW YORK, NY) — The New York Attorney General Wednesday filed a $250 million civil lawsuit against former President Trump, alleging two decades of fraud.
New York Attorney General Letitia James said Donald Trump and his family enriched themselves through “numerous acts of fraud and misrepresentations” over the past 20 years.
Her lawsuit accused the Trumps of grossly inflating Trump’s net worth by billions of dollars, cheating lenders and insurers.
Trump, for example, valued his Mar-a-Lago country club on Palm Beach at $779 million dollars based on what the lawsuit called a “false premise” about its development potential.
The suit said it should really be valued at $75 million.
The former president in the past has valued his name and brand at $1 billion.
Trump has denied wrongdoing, but James believes the alleged conduct is potentially criminal and has referred her findings to federal prosecutors.
