Numerous students hospitalized after fight at Royal Palm High School

Emergency

At least 10 students were transported to area hospitals Wednesday afternoon following an on campus fight at Royal Palm Beach Community High School during lunch period.

The school, located at 10600 Okeechobee Boulevard, remains on Code Yellow lockdown as administrators ‘limit movement’ inside the building.

According to a robocall issued to parents by school principal Michelle Fleming a Palm Beach Schools Police officer used pepper spray to regain control of the crowd.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue transported 10 students to hospital though it’s not clear if they were injured in the fight or from the use of pepper spray.

Paramedics also treated students on the scene for pepper spray exposure.

Principal Fleming went on to say the situation is contained.

The severity of the injuries sustained in the incident is not known.

This is a developing story.
