(CAPE CANAVERAL, FLA) — SpaceX finally got some much needed supplies for the International Space Station off the ground yesterday.
A Falcon 9 rocket, loaded with more than 58-hundred pounds of cargo, successfully lifted off Thursday from Cape Canaveral, Florida.
The Dragon’s pressurized compartment accessible by the astronauts inside the space station is packed with 829 pounds of crew supplies, 2,468 pounds of science gear, 400 pounds of spacewalk equipment, 724 pounds of station hardware and 72 pounds of computer equipment.

The launch was delayed a little over a month after due to a technical error.
Weather conditions were favorable for the launch and there was no delay from rain.
The capsule is scheduled to arrive at the ISS this Saturday.
