BOCA RATON- A small dog is lucky to be alive.

Early Wednesday morning a volunteer at Tri-County Animal Rescue on Boca Rio Road found a disheveled Shih Tzu that was barely able to stand inside the facility’s fence.

According to the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office, the approximately 6 year old female dog had been thrown over the fence and showed signs of severe neglect, requiring immediate surgery due to her condition.

The small dog, who Tri-County staff named ‘Parker’, is now recovering but is still in guarded condition at the rescue center’s hospital.

PBSO is asking anyone who may know who Parker is, or has information on who abandoned her, to call Palm Beach Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS.
