KEY WEST, FL- A Navy pilot has been rescued after they were forced to eject from a Navy jet following a technical issue.
The situation unfolded at approximately 9:21 a.m. about six miles from Naval Air Station Key West’s Boca Chica Field.
Moments after the pilot ejected themselves from the jet, a search and rescue operation was launched to locate them.
Fortunately, the pilot was rescued and suffered no serious injuries.
They have been taken to a hospital in Miami for further evaluation and treatment.
It is unclear what technical issue occurred.
