Naomi Osaka is out at U.S. Open and says she’s taking a break

Naomi Osaka was upset by 18-year-old Leylah Fernandez in the third round of the U.S. Open.

Canadian Leylah Fernandez, who is ranked 73 in the world, be Osaka Friday night in three sets.

Osaka served for the match in the second set, but Fernandez broke Osaka to force a tiebreak, which she won 7-2.

Osaka threw her racket several times during the match, she was visibly upset about how the match was unfolding.

Fernandez said she didn’t focus on Osaka, she just kept her head in the game and winning the match.

She closed out the match, 5-7, 7-9, 6-4, when Osaka hit a forehand wide on match point.

Osaka tearfully expressed that she was considering taking a break and not playing in her next match.
