CHICAGO– A woman is in custody after she reportedly stole a police car and ran over an officer while naked.

The incident occurred on Monday near Jackson Boulevard and Kostner Avenue in Chicago.

Authorities say they received a call about a naked woman standing in the middle of the roadway and attempting to break into passing vehicles.

When police arrived at the scene, they found the woman lying in the middle of the road after witnesses say she was knocked down while attempting to get into a passing car.

As an officer approached the woman, she got up from the roadway and began walking toward him but then walked past the officer and got into a police vehicle.

The officer grabbed the woman’s arm to stop her but she managed to put the vehicle in reverse and ran over the officer’s legs before driving away.

Police located the woman and the squad car at around 9:50 a.m. and after a brief exchange with officers, she was detained and taken to Stroger Hospital in unknown condition.

The officer was also taken to an area hospital where he was treated and released.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident and say that charges against the suspect are pending.
