POMPANO BEACH, FL– A 52-year-old woman has been taken into custody after she purposely set her son’s bed on fire because his girlfriend was not wearing a bra.
The incident occurred at an apartment on SE 15th St. on Jan. 21.
Authorities say they were called to the apartment around 1:30 p.m. to put out a fire that began in the bedroom of a unit.
After putting out the fire, authorities determined that the fire was purposely set and started investigating.
The mother, Henguer Alexandre, admitted to setting the fire because she was frustrated that her son’s girlfriend was not wearing a bra.
Alexandre then went to her son’s empty room and set his bed on fire.
As the fire began to grow, Alexandre shut the door to the room and did nothing to put it out.
She was taken into custody on a second-degree arson charge.
Alexandre was still in jail as of Wednesday on a $7,500 bond.
