PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL– The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrested in the death of a 14-day-old infant who was found dead in a Palm Beach County waterway 4 years ago.  The infant nicknamed “Baby June,” was discovered naked in the Boynton Beach inlet on June 1, 2018.  An off-duty Boynton Beach firefighter found the infant’s body floating naked on the Atlantic Ocean side of the inlet.  The medical examiner reported that the child’s death was a homicide and was committed when she was between 4 and 7 days old.  The mother of the infant has finally identified and taken into police custody on Thursday.  Not much is known about the arrest at this time but throughout the course of the investigation, authorities submitted the infant’s DNA into genealogical databases and checked with hospitals in Palm Beach and Broward for infants born during the time frame “Baby June” was believed to have been born. Officials are expected to hold a press conference about the arrest later today.
