Mother goes missing while searching for her missing son and his friend

AP police, emergency

Authorities are currently searching for an 80-year-old Oklahoma woman who reportedly went missing while searching for her missing adult son and his friend.

Glenda “Cookie” Parton was last seen at a business in Turley, Oklahoma on Oct. 25th while  her vehicle was found abandoned on the side of a road on Oct. 26th.

Officials say Parton’s  son 59-year-old Dwayne Selby, and his 76-year-old friend Jack Grimes were reported missing on October 22nd after they decided to take a road trip to Fort Worth, Texas for a horse show. According to the report, the pair never made it to the show nor did they contact any of their family members. Despite reporting the two missing, Parton decided to search for them on her own before she went missing.

Authorities released surveillance video on a person of interest in Parton’s disappearance and have since interviewed the person. It is unclear, however, if that person is still a suspect.

On Sunday officials announced that human remains were discovered in a wooded area near Turley by hunters. Due to the condition of the body, authorities say it will take some time to identify the person and whether it is a man or a woman.

Investigators say the body could belong to one of the three missing people.

This is a developing story.
