A 37-year-old mother of two is now facing murder charges after she allegedly stabbed both of her children to death.

Claudia Camacho Duenas of Glenwood Springs, Colorado was taken into custody on December 30th after neighbors contacted police after witnessing her stabbing her children.

According to the report, Duenas repeatedly stabbed both her 18-year-old and her 11-year-old children in an incident that began in their apartment home but eventually spilled out into the parking lot.

Authorities reported that when they arrived to the scene, they found two victims suffering from multiple stab wounds and a Duenas being restrained by an uninvolved civilian.

The civilian then told police that Duenas was responsible for the condition of the victims.

First responders worked on the victims before transporting them to an area hospital where they later died.

Duenas was taken into custody without incident.

It is unclear what her motives were.

Authorities say they are continuing to investigate the incident.
