SAN ANTONIO, TX– A 39-year-old mother who went missing after rushing out of her home to get to work on time, has been found dead.
The body of Christina Powell was found Saturday night in her vehicle that was parked at the Huebner Oka Center in San Antonio.
Though Powell has been reportedly missing for almost three weeks, a security guard told authorities he noticed the vehicle sitting in the parking lot for about a week.
When the security guard checked out the vehicle he noticed a strong odor and then looked inside and saw a body.
The San Antonio Police Department reported that there were no apparent signs of trauma and Powell’s purse was still with her in the car.
Authorities also reported that Powell was “diagnosed with medical conditions that require a doctors (sic) care.”
Powell was first reported missing on July 5th after a coworker noticed she did not show up for work after calling to say that she would be late.
The coworker then went to Powell’s home and spoke to her 12-year-old who informed them that Powell should be at work.
On the day of her disappearance, Powell rushed out of the home leaving both her cellphone and her Apple watch.
Her mother recalled her last moments with her daughter:
“We didn’t really have any kind of in-depth conversation. It was basically, ‘Good morning.’ She told me she was late,” Powell’s mother — who lived with her daughter — recalled of their last moments together that morning. “Then, she was leaving for work and I told her to be careful. And I probably told her, ‘I love you.'”
Powell leaves behind two children.
