A mother who was on her way to drop off her teens as school says she found a man shot to death in the roadway.

The discovery was made Friday morning at the the Villas Del Lago Apartments in Miami Gardens.

Officials say the woman contacted them around 6:30 a.m. after she noticed the man did not seem to be breathing or moving even as cars went around him.

She also noticed that the man appeared to have been shot in the chest.

Authorities arrived to the scene and pronounced the man dead.

At this time, authorities have not released the age or identity of the victim.
