A 32-year-old mother has been arrested after she ran over an officer who was directing traffic outside of her child’s school on purpose.

The incident occurred outside of the IDEA Charter School around 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 30th.

Authorities say Susan Rodriguez had just dropped off her child and began driving in a lane not meant for traffic.

An officer told her to get back in line with her car and follow the normal traffic flow. Rodriguez reportedly told the officer “I don’t have time for this. I’m late for work,” and turned her wheels towards the officer. She then drove into the officer and kept going.

Despite being struck by the vehicle, the officer was able to chase Rodriguez down and arrest her.

When authorities spoke to Rodriguez, she told them that she was aware that she hit something but kept going anyway.

Rodriguez now faces aggravated assault against a public service charges.
