Mom and four children struck at bus stop by driver fleeing police

(MIDWOOD, NY)– A mother and her four children are recovering in a hospital after they were struck by a driver who was fleeing police during a traffic stop.
The incident occurred just before 5 p.m. Tuesday along Flatbush Avenue and Avenue J.
Authorities say they attempted a traffic stop on a woman driving a white Mercedes-Benz when the woman decided to flee from police.
The woman reportedly sped through several bus stops before hitting a mother and two of her children as she was gathering her two other children off of a school bus.
The suspect fled the scene and abandoned the vehicle a short distance away at E 24th St and Glenwood Road.
The 41-year-old mother and her children ages 8, 5,3, and 1 are listed in stable condition.
Officials say that they expect the family to make a full recovery.
No arrests have been made.
Authorities are still investigating the incident and searching for the suspect.
