A 25-year-old Missouri woman is facing animal cruelty after she left her dogs in a hot car while visiting a Florida restaurant.
Tesia White was taken into custody in New Smyrna Beach on Thursday after authorities were informed that left her Goldendoodle, a boxer, and two Goldendoodle puppies in her car with no air conditioning and the windows rolled up.
White told authorities that despite her having the windows up and the a/c not on, she went to check on the dogs during the lunch.
“I should not be allowed to own a dog,” White said, according to the police report. “I cannot believe I let this happened.”
White was taken to the Volusia County Jail on four counts of felony animal cruelty. As of Friday morning, she remained at the jail with a $10,000 bond.
This hot holiday weekend, please remember: Never leave children, disabled adults or pets in a hot vehicle. The results can be deadly. https://t.co/lKnVClQsPj
