Missouri lawmakers consider restricting transgender high school athletes to teams of their birth gender.

If some Missouri lawmakers have their way, transgender high school athletes would be forced to play on teams that match their gender at birth.

Proposed by State Sen. Cindy O’Laughlin, the Republican told the education committee on Tuesday that she wants to “create a fair playing field.”
“It is a known biological fact that males are born with categorically superior strength, speed and endurance,” she claimed. The state House is also considering a similar bill.

Opponents note that Missouri law already covers this situation, asking transgender women to submit medical records to the Missouri State High School Activities

Association proving they have been on testosterone blockers for a year.

How do you feel about these laws currently being considered?
