LUGOFF, S.C — Authorities are reporting that the remains of a woman who was reported missing in March have been found decomposing in a clothing collection bin.
The body of 47-year-old Lesley Lemoine was discovered Saturday by two men who were walking their bikes near the Camden West Inn hotel.
According to the report, the men noticed a strong smell coming from a clothing collection bin behind the hotel and decided to check it out.
Authorities described the body as “badly decomposed and mostly skeletal.”
Lemoine’s daughter told reporters that after 9 months she has been praying for closure for her and her 10-year-old sister:
“I feel like we’re getting some closure that we’ve needed for nine months, and it’s hard, but we’re all processing it in our own ways, but it’s still a journey to get justice for her,” Hannah Gates said.
Lab work is still pending to determine Lemoine’s cause of death.
Authorities are investigating the death as “suspicious” and say that they believe Lemoine’s body was dumped inside the bin.
Family members reported that Lemoine visited the hotel months before her body was discovered.
