Authorities are currently investigating after a woman and her dog were found dead inside of a lake in Weston, Florida.

The pair were located Monday morning near the 500 block of Racquet Club Road.

Broward County Sheriff’s spokesman Carey Codd told reporters that they were called to the area around 3:00 am after the victim’s husband reported her missing and said that he found his dog floating in the lake with a pair of what looked like his wive’s sandals.

BSO divers were able to locate and retrieve the woman’s body a short while later at the bottom of the lake.

Homicide detectives are currently investigating the incident, but reported that the body had no clear signs of trauma and that they do not  suspect foul-play.
