The Port St. Lucie police department is crediting a drone with helping them locate two children who went missing during a playdate.
Officials say they were called to a home on SW Alminar Street on Sunday after a family reported two children missing from the home.
Authorities were said to have conducted a quick search of the area and where unsuccessful with finding the children.
The police department then contacted Officer Ghobrial who is a drone pilot and Officer Thayer, a visual observer, to assist them in the search.
Within moments of flying over the area, the children were located by the drone. Officials say they were walking along a lake near the home.
Officer Ghobrial continued to hover over the children until their parents were able to get to the area and pick them up.
