The Port St. Lucie Police Department and St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office combined forces to locate the missing man without having a precise location.
Through several phone calls, authorities eventually determined that the victim was somewhere on Becker RD.
PSLPD K9 Officer Krecic and Officer Perkins canvassed the area on foot while SLCSO deployed an Air Unit.
The air Unit eventually located the victim near his vehicle attempting to climb back up a steep canal bank.
K9 Officer Krecic and Officer Perkins immediately sprung into action and climbed down the steep canal bank to safely rescue the man from the water’s edge and his vehicle that threatened to topple over.
The man was taken to the hospital as a precaution. Authorities say he was not injured.
