Millions in jewels stolen in L.A. heist

AP police, emergency

LOS ANGELES, CA- Police are searching for the people responsible for stealing millions of dollars in precocious gems from an armored truck last week.

The jewels were being transported via Brink’s truck from San Francisco to a gem show near Los Angeles when the truck was robbed in the desert city of Lancaster in northern LA County.

The 18 victims affected by the robbery say the stolen jewels and gems are valued at over $100 million, however a Brink’s spokesperson puts the value closer to $10 million.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the LA County Sheriff’s Office are investigating.
