Police in Doral are reporting that a middle school teacher who is accused of having a sexual relationship with one of her students is pregnant.

41-year-old Heiry Calvi who was a teacher at John I. Smith K-8 Center, was taken into police custody on Friday after a months long investigation into allegations that she was involved in an inappropriate relationship with a student.

Authorities say they learned of the allegations after several students told staff at the school that the 15-year-old student was bragging about having intercourse with the teacher and showed them pictures.

Officials eventually got permission to access the student’s phone, where they discovered nude photos, inappropriate videos, and text messages between the teacher and the student professing their love for each other.

While Calvi was only arrested on Friday, school officials say they removed the teacher in March when the allegations first came to light.

Calvi was said to have bonded out of jail on Saturday. She faces multiple charges, including lewd and lascivious sexual battery.
