Officials in West Palm Beach have arrested a student after the student walked on to another school’s campus with a gun.
The incident occurred Friday around 11:15 a.m. at Roosevelt Middle.
Authorities say the Principal Jeremiah Stewart questioned the boy and contacted police after other students alerted him to the situation:
“Other students alerted a school employee who escorted the individual to the front office where School Police and I questioned him,” Stewart wrote in a note to parents. “During questioning, the juvenile revealed that he had a gun in his backpack. Police retrieved the weapon without incident and the individual was arrested.”
Principal Stewart also reported that he is unclear why the boy was on the Roosevelt campus.
Authorities are still investigating the situation.
