Michelle Wu has been sworn in as Boston’s first woman mayor in the city’s history.

The swearing-in Tuesday of city’s first Asian American mayor came two weeks after she won Boston’s mayoral election.

She defeated Annissa Essaibi George.

The 36-year-old Wu takes over for former acting Mayor Kim Janey.

“There is a lot of work to do and a lot of resources available right now. The federal government is delivering resources at a scale we can put to work quickly,” Wu said.
