(CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA)– Three football players at the University of Virginia were killed inside a school parking garage on Sunday.

Among them, Virginia linebacker D’Sean Perry, 22, a fourth year junior from Miami, Florida.

Also killed were wide receiver Lavel Davis Jr. of Dorchester, SC, and receiver Devin Chandler of Birmingham, Alabama.

Perry was a linebacker at Gulliver Prep in Palmetto Bay and was named the South Florida Conference’s defensive player of the year in 2018.

The shooting took place on a bus which was bringing students back to campus from a trip.

A suspect, Christopher Darnell Jones Jr., was taken into custody Monday morning.

No motive has been established for the shooting and the FBI along with local officials are investigating.

Jones was at one time a UVA football player but was no longer on the team at the time of the shooting.
