Meghan Markle developing animated series ‘Pearl” for Netflix

Meghan Markle is developing an animated series for Netflix that will tell the stories of influential women by blending adventure, fantasy and history.

The couples Archwell Production company announced the exciting news on Wednesday.

Markle will work as creator and executive producer on the project, collaborating with producers David and Carolyn Soper, who previously worked together on Rocketman and Sherlock Gnomes.

“Like many girls her age, our heroine Pearl is on a journey of self-discovery as she tries to overcome life’s daily challenges.” Markle said in a statement.

“I’m thrilled that Archwell Productions, partnered with the powerhouse platform Netflix, and these incredible producers, will together bring you the new animated series, which celebrates extraordinary women throughout history. David Furnish and I have been eager to bring this special series to light, and I am delighted we are ab;e to announce it today”

The series is still in the development stages, and a release date has not been announced.
