
GENESEE COUNTY, MI– Police in Michigan have arrested a man who they say kidnapped a woman and threatened to rip her throat out with his sharpened teeth if she did not do everything he said.
36-year-old Michael Barajas was taken into custody after the victim managed to escape and told authorities about her ordeal on Dec. 8th.
Authorities say that on the week of Thanksgiving Barajas took the 20-year-old victim to a house. He then tied her to a bed, locked her in a room, and screwed in windows to prevent her from escaping.
The victim told authorities that while she was in the home Barajas trafficked her.
The victim tried to escape three times and finally managed to get free and went to a hospital.
Authorities tracked down Barajas and took him into custody.
He is facing several charges including:
One count of human trafficking, forced labor involving kidnapping, CSC/death, one count of kidnapping, one count of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree, one count of possession of methamphetamine and ecstasy, one count of assault with a dangerous weapon, one count of weapons, felony firearm, one count of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder.
He is being held on a $250,000 bond.
