PALM SPRINGS, FL– Investigators in Palm Springs, Florida are thanking the community for their assistance in helping them arrest a man who reportedly sexually assaulted a teen.
67-year-old James Monroe Franklin was arrested after an extensive investigation into the sexual assault of the 15-year-old boy outside of the Palm Springs library on April 19th.
Authorities say Franklin approached the teen around 8:00pm and then forced the teen to perform sexual acts on him before fleeing the scene.
Investigators released surveillance video of Franklin in June and soon received tips from the community that helped them identify the suspect.
Franklin is now in custody and has been charged with sexual battery on a minor.
