A man who was photographed wearing a “camp Auschwitz” shirt during the breach on the US Capitol building has been identified and arrested.
The suspect is said to be Robert Keith Packer of Virginia according to CNN.
During Wednesday’s riot, Packer was pictured inside the building wearing a sweatshirt that made light of the Nazi death camp where 1.1 million people were killed during World War II.
While those who spoke to CNN about Packer did not want to be identified, they described him as a long-time extremist who has had several run-ins with the law. Another source described him as someone who was frustrated with the government.
According to court records, Packer has a lengthy criminal record include several DUI convictions and a felony conviction for forging public records.
