Man wanted for murder arrested in Palm Beach County

A man who was wanted for murder in Martin County has since been located in Palm Beach County.
The Palm Beach County Sherriff’s Office announced the arrest of 61-year-old James Stephenson on Wednesday.
According to the report, Stephenson called his neighbors early Wednesday and told them that he killed someone.
“Saying that he had killed somebody. That he had messed up really bad and that he wanted to let everybody know what he had done,” said Capt. Ruben Romero.
Authorities then searched a five-acre property known to Stephenson and noticed drops of blood leading into a home.
When authorities went inside the home, they found a woman dead inside a bedroom.
Officials say the woman appears to have suffered trauma that may have led to her death.
After a search that included officials from the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Unit, and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force were involved in the search.
He has since been taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder.
His bond was set at $1 million.
