(ATTALLA, AL)– Authorities in Alabama are currently searching for a suspect who took a child he did not know out of its mother’s shopping cart and put the child in his own.
The incident occurred around midday at a Walmart in Attalla.
Officials say the child’s mother saw the suspect take the child out of her cart and immediately retrieved the child.
After looking over hours of surveillance video, authorities say the suspect appears to be a truck driver who works for a company based out of Illinois.
Several state agencies are working together to find the driver.
