NORTH LAUDERDALE, FL–
Authorities are searching for a suspect who robbed a mother and her children at gunpoint.
The incident occurred at a grocery store on Aug. 23, around 4 p.m.
Surveillance video shows the suspect driving into the grocery store parking lot and parking a distance from the front of the store.
“Surveillance video shows that there’s a male subject that enters a parking lot in a light colored Nissan, parks his vehicle, exits the vehicle wearing a light colored hat and shirt and dark colored pants,” said Broward Sheriff’s Office deputy Gerdy St. Louis.
The suspect is then seen walking up to the store as the victim and her three children walk in the same direction but on the opposite side of the parking space.
Once the victim and her children entered the store, the victim says the man grabbed her by the neck and began choking her.
She then started fighting back and told her seven-year-old son to go get help.
The woman says the man grabbed a fake gold chain and ran off.
“Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding this incident or regarding the identity of the individual to contact Broward Crime Stoppers,” said St. Louis.
If you have any information about this incident, you are asked to contact Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
