Man returning a lost phone gets attacked and accused of stealing

Miami, FL–A 27-year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly attacked a man who was reportedly returning his lost phone.
The incident occurred on Wednesday at the Brickell City Centre in Miami.
The victim told authorities that he was charging his phone in the common area of the high-end mall on Tuesday when he noticed an unattended cell phone.
He then picked it up and turned it over to a security guard so that it could be put in lost and found.
The following day, the victim returned to the mall the following day and that’s when he was confronted by the person the phone belonged to.
The victim told authorities that the suspect immediately began accusing him of stealing the phone, as the victim attempted to explain what happened with the phone.
After attacking him, the suspect allowed the victim to take him to security to see if the phone was there.
When the security guard handed the suspect the phone, the suspect immediately fled the scene.
The victim says he was left with several bruises on his body and a swollen eye.
City of Miami Police were able to identify and arrest the suspect after he returned to the mall the following day.
The suspect was identified as 27-year-old Amed Youssef Bamba.
He is now facing a battery charge.
