The Broward County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that they have arrested a man who kidnapped and sexually assaulted a female Cleveland Clinic employee.

The arrest was made Sunday in Charlotte County, Florida.

Officials say the employee was walking into the hospital in Weston on Saturday, when 31-year-old Joel Cossio tackled her, forced her back into her SUV, and then drove away with her.

He then reportedly sexually assault the hospital employee and dropped her off at the Target in the Sawgrass Mills mall before fleeing the scene in her vehicle.

The suspect was later seen driving west on Alligator Alley towards Charlotte County where authorities found and arrested him.

Cossio is currently being held in Charlotte County pending a judge’s order to extradite him back to Broward County.
