A Tennessee man has been arrested after he reportedly shot his brother in the head as he slept.

The incident occurred on Thursday at a home in Soddy-Daisy.

Authorities say Larry D. Jarrell was “intoxicated on alcohol and marijuana while he was playing with guns and shot his brother Michael Jarrell.”

Michael was said to have been shot from the foot of the bed and was asleep at the time he was shot.

Another person was also in the home sleeping at the time but he was not injured.

Authorities reported that all evidence indicates that the shooting was accidental.

Larry Jarrell has been charged with criminal homicide and reckless endangerment.
