Man fatally shoots friend after argument on fishing trip

RUSKIN, FL– The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that they have arrested a 56-year-old man who fatally shot his friend during an argument on a fishing trip.
The incident occurred on Friday, March 10, just before 10 p.m.
Authorities say they were called to an area on Manatee Drive and discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body.
Officials performed life-saving measures and transported the victim to the hospital, however, he later died while in hospital care.
Several days later, authorities arrested John Skeen in connection with the shooting.
According to the report, Skeen, the victim, and another friend had been staying at a residence in the area for a fishing trip. After returning home from a bar, Skeen and the victim got into an argument.
As things continued to escalate, Skeen pulled out his gun and shot his friend.
Skeen was arrested and is facing a second-degree murder with a firearm charge.
