
(MONROE COUNTY, FL)– A 38-year-old Florida man has been charged after he allegedly beat and choked a woman.
Christopher Wesley Lockett was taken into custody on Nov. 1st for the brutal attack that occurred on Oct. 29 at a motel on Grassy Key.
Authorities say Lockett first began slapping the 40-year-old victim.
He then punched her several times before using a belt and necklace to choke her until she lost consciousness.
Lockett also reportedly told the victim that he was going to kill her.
The victim was left with a broken nose, injuries to her eyes, and some sort of brain injury.
She was taken to Fishermen’s Hospital in Marathon before being transported to Kendal Regional Medical Center in Miami.
Authorities say Lockett also tried to clean up the scene before police could see it.
He was arrested in Sarasota on Tuesday.
