(FORT LAUDERDALE, FL)– An 18-year-old man has been taken into custody following an hours-long standoff with police after he stabbed one of his roommates and threatened to stab the other.
The incident occurred at a home in the 1500 block of Northwest 15 Way on Monday.
Officials say Gergio Draman was involved in an argument with his two roommates over a cell phone. During the argument, Draman grabbed a knife and threatened to stab them.
Authorities say his roommates grabbed whatever was next to them to defend themselves.
Draman reportedly launched at one of his roommates and cut the roommate on his upper left arm. The roommate managed to flee the home and contacted the police.
Authorities set up a perimeter around the home and urged Draman to come out, however, he refused.
At around 5:00 a.m. authorities left the area and went to retrieve a warrant.
When officials returned to the home, they found Draman trying to sneak out of the side door and quickly took him into custody.
Draman is facing a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon causing bodily harm.
He remained in the Broward County Jail Thursday on bonds totaling $10,000.
