Emergency

The Broward County Sheriff’s Department is investigating after a woman was fatally struck by two vehicles while attempting to run away from a male subject.

The incident was reported on January 18th on the 200 block of NW 6th Avenue.

Authorities say the man chased the woman through the parking lot of the Pat Larkins Community Center around 6:27 a.m.

The woman reportedly ran through some bushes and into the roadway, where she was hit by a Toyota Camry.

A witness says after the vehicle struck the woman, the man laid on top of her body. They were both then struck by a Honda Civic.

They were both transported to an area hospital where the woman was pronounced dead.

Both drivers remained at the scene and aren’t said to be at fault.

Authorities say they are still investigating the incident and have not released the name of the victims due to Marsy’s Law.
