Local teachers ask parents to refrain from appearing in virtual classrooms

Local teachers are speaking out about several inappropriate things they have seen parents do while teaching students on virtual platforms.

During Wednesday’s school board meeting in Boca Raton, Boca Raton Elementary teacher Edith Pride said aired her grieves in a 3 minute speech:

” Parents, please make sure that you have on proper clothing when you are walking behind your child’s computer because we’ve seen them in their drawers, their bras, and everything else,” Pride said.

In the meeting several people laughed about the statement but several teachers have since pointed out that they have seen parents appear in the background of their child’s lessons in various inappropriate manners as well.

” Parents, when you are helping your children at their computer please do not appear with big joints in your hand and cigarettes,” Pride said. “Those joints be as big as cigars. Oh yeah, we’ve seen it all.”

“I had a father, no shirt drinking a beer at 11:42 in the morning,” another teacher who wished to remain anonymous told CBS12 News.

” I did have a parent who sat on the couch and we could see an ankle monitor on her leg” another teacher said.

What makes matters worse, a Spokesperson for the school district also told CBS12 that all the lessons are recorded just incase students need to go back and review a lesson.
