A Port St. Lucie man is now behind bars after he allegedly pointed a gun at his girlfriend’s head and threatened to shoot her.
The incident occurred Friday morning at a home on SW Carib Street.
Officials say the woman contacted them about the incident and informed them that she was able to get out of the home safely.
When authorities arrived, they found the suspect identified as 33-year-old Cody Eckhardt, still barricaded in the home.
After about four hours of negotiations with SWAT and Crisis Negotiation teams, they were able to convince Eckhardt to come out of the home.
He is now in police custody.
