An 18-year-old Tamarac man is now behind bars after he threw a six-week-old puppy against the wall because the puppy used the restroom on his bed.
Brayden Chance Niemczyk was taken into police custody on Saturday after his mother took the puppy to an animal hospital.
Authorities say the incident left the puppy with brain damage and partial paralysis. It was later euthanized.
Investigators say Niemczyk texted his mother to let her know what happened to the puppy and she texted back “OMG, what is your problem.”
Niemczyk replied, “I’m evil.”
When his mother arrived home, she confronted him about the puppy and Niemczyk allegedly threatened her with a knife and said that no one cared about the puppy.
His mother then ordered him to get out of the house and then took the puppy to an animal hospital.
Niemczyk eventually joined his mother at the animal hospital where he was arrested.
Authorities reported that Niemczyk claimed that he threw the puppy out of anger and told authorities that he had conflicting feelings about the dog because his girlfriend was jealous of the attention he gave it.
Niemczykis charged with animal cruelty causing death and aggravated assault with a weapon.
He has been taken to the Broward County Jail where his bonds total $10,000.
