PINECREST, FL–
A 21-year-old man has been taken into custody after he exposed himself to his Uber driver and threatened to rape and kill her.
The incident occurred in the early morning hours on Monday.
Authorities say the driver picked up the suspect Matthew Manuel Ferro, near Southwest 67th Avenue and 98th Street, just before 3:30 a.m.
During the drive, the woman told authorities that Ferro started to undress in the backseat of the car.
He then began touching himself and told her to touch him as well.
The victim refused and threatened to call the police and that’s when Ferro became aggressive.
The victim says he began trying to hit her and take her cell phone.
The woman eventually pulled over her vehicle at Southwest 67th Avenue and 106th Street and got out.
She told authorities that Ferro started getting dressed but threatened
“that he was going to rape her” and that “that he was going to kill her.”
When Ferro exited the vehicle, the driver got back in the vehicle and locked the doors.
Ferro then tried to get back in but could not. He then fled the scene.
The driver called authorities.
After a brief search, authorities found Ferro just before 4:10 a.m. near Southwest 67th Avenue and 117th Street.
He told them that he had been “taking drugs” and did not remember anything.
“He thought he was in South Miami when he was detained,” according to police. He also claimed that ” we (police) didn’t have any evidence.”
Authorities, however, had his underwear which he left inside the Uber.
Ferro was taken into custody and is facing charges of attempted kidnapping, attempted sexual battery, strong-arm robbery, and battery with a prior conviction.
