GREENACRES, FL– Authorities in Palm Beach County are reporting that they confiscated a loaded gun from a student at John I. Leonard High School on Thursday.
The weapon was found on the student during a search after a tip was submitted to Fortify Florida app towards the end of the school day.
Officials say the gun was not being used in a threatening manner and the student turned it over to the school resource officer without incident.
The student is in police custody and will be facing charges.
