The father of actress Lindsay Lohan has been arrested in Palm Beach County.

Michael Lohan was arrested by the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Department on Friday after an investigation found that he was involved in a patient brokering scheme.

Authorities said Lohan, who is the president of Lola Recovery Ventures in Palm Beach Gardens often brought drug addicts into the treatment facility in exchange for illegal kickbacks.

According to the report, Lohan was said to have received $27,750 in kickbacks through Lola Recovery.

State officials in recent years have put together a task force to cut down on recovery home and treatment facilities.

“Mr. Lohan was investigated by our Sober Homes Task Force and is being charged with receiving kickbacks for referring patients into drug treatment. Patient brokering corrupts our health care system because decisions are motivated by greed instead of a patient’s needs. This is our Task Force’s 117th arrest and will not be our last,” State Attorney Dave Aronberg told NBC News.
