A defense lawyer has been arrested after he allegedly tried to smuggle cocaine into the Palm Beach County Jail.
Investigators say 56-year-old David Casals attempted to smuggle pieces of paper that were saturated in cocaine and disguised as legal documents into the jail.
They did not say who the documents were for or when the incident occurred, however, they did report that they conducted an extensive investigation before they were able to arrest Casals.
He has since been charged with three felonies: trafficking cocaine, delivery of cocaine, and introduction of contraband into a county facility.
If convicted, he will likely be disbarred.
